Oh my goodness, do I love a good project! We joke that our house is built by Craigslist. And it’s pretty much true. Very few things we own were purchased new, and I really do prefer it that way. I’m going to be a whole lot more upset if my kids or pets destroy something I spent $1,000 on versus something I spent $10 on (totally throwing them under the bus — I would NEVER ruin anything. Lol!) Plus, I love the fact that the things we get from others have a history.
And because money is always a factor, we try to figure out how to do most things by ourselves. Although this house has proved to have some issues beyond our skill set, we still do our best where we can.
